Q1 2021 Performance of Top Music and Podcasts Apps on Android in Brazil

As we delve into the first quarter of 2021, the performance of music and podcasts applications on the Android platform in Brazil has shown intriguing trends. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the top contenders in the space, with metrics on downloads and weekly active users.

Music Player & MP3:Lark Player experienced a fluctuation in downloads, starting at around 270K in the last week of December and dipping to approximately 202K by the end of March. The weekly active users followed an upward trend from 7.48M to a peak of 8.82M in late February, before settling at around 7.99M.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts, with its revenue unreported, saw a steady download count beginning at 233K and reaching a high of approximately 272K in late March. The app's active users started at 26.7M, saw a slight decrease over the quarter, but ended with a notable increase to 25.2M.

Music Player & MP3 Player by InShot Inc. showed a descending trend in downloads, starting the quarter at about 289K and falling to 172K. The weekly active users, however, saw an increase from 3.14M to a peak of 4.62M in early March, before decreasing to 4.2M.

YouTube Music, another app with no reported revenue, had downloads that decreased from roughly 250K to 151K. Its weekly active users started at 17.8M, peaked at 20.1M mid-March, and then slightly declined to 19.3M by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts showed a varied download pattern, with an initial 108K that rose to 128K in early March, then fluctuated to close the quarter at around 109K. The app's active users saw a decline from 368K to 313K over the period.
